What this calculator does
This tool computes monthly and cumulative contributions to the Employees' Provident Fund (EPF) based on standard employer and employee contribution percentages. It helps employees forecast retirement savings accumulated through regular PF contributions.
By showing monthly and yearly totals it helps with retirement planning and short-term cashflow assessment to see how PF contributions affect take-home pay across months and years.
Who should use this calculator?
Salaried employees covered under the EPF scheme, payroll administrators, and anyone wanting to plan retirement savings or compare take-home pay after PF deductions should use this calculator.
It is useful for payroll planning and for employees weighing salary breakdowns with different allowances to see how each element affects employee and employer contributions and net pay.
How this calculator works
The calculator multiplies the basic salary (and qualifying allowances) by the employee and employer contribution rates to compute monthly contributions. It can also aggregate contributions over a year or multiple years to show cumulative totals.
If your salary includes dearness allowance or other components that qualify for PF, include them to get a more accurate picture. The tool does not model interest credited by the EPF authority—only contributions are shown here.
How to interpret your result
Results show monthly PF contributions by employee and employer, plus totals for a specified period. These estimates reflect contributions only and do not include interest credited by the EPF authority or withdrawal rules.
Use the totals to plan long-term savings goals and to reconcile payroll reports; for retirement forecasting include expected interest rates on EPF balances when doing a full projection.
Example
For example, with a basic of ₹30,000 and a 12% employee rate plus 12% employer contribution, monthly employee and employer contributions each will be ₹3,600. Annual totals are simply monthly amounts multiplied by 12.
