What this calculator does
Helps you estimate monthly EMIs when converting credit card purchases or large transactions to an EMI plan. Enter the transaction amount, rate, and tenure to get an approximate monthly payment.
This tool is particularly useful when comparing lender or card-issuer EMI options, understanding the real monthly cost after conversion, and assessing whether promotional offers or processing fees materially change affordability.
Who should use this calculator
- Cardholders planning to convert purchases to EMIs
- Customers comparing bank EMI plans
- Anyone checking monthly affordability for large purchases
If you face multiple conversion options or promotional offers, use this calculator to compare effective monthly outflow after including any known fees. It helps you avoid surprise costs when selecting an EMI plan.
How this calculator works
Input the purchase amount, the EMI interest rate (if any), and chosen tenure. The tool computes the monthly payment using standard amortization logic and shows totals for principal and interest across the tenure.
If you know a processing fee or conversion charge, add it to the transaction amount to see its impact on monthly payments. The calculator assumes fixed rates for the chosen tenure and does not model variable or promotional rate resets unless you manually adjust the inputs.
How to interpret the results
The EMI shown is an estimate of the recurring monthly amount based on the inputs. Use the total interest and total repayment figures to compare offers: a lower headline rate may be offset by high processing fees, so always compare effective monthly cost and total repayment.
Example
A ₹50,000 purchase converted to a 12-month EMI at 10% annual gives an estimated EMI of around ₹4,400 per month (estimate). If the issuer charges a ₹1,000 conversion fee, adding that to the principal raises the EMI slightly; the calculator shows those adjusted numbers so you can compare net cost across plans.
Limitations & disclaimer
This is an indicative tool and does not replace issuer disclosures. Promotional zero-interest offers, segmented rates, or deferred interest schemes may behave differently than a simple amortization — always verify terms and any early repayment penalties with your card issuer before converting large purchases to EMIs.
